Lifeguard Course (American Red Cross)
All lifeguarding participants must complete the required swimming skills prerequisite prior to taking the course. The prerequisite skills assessments include a swim-tread-swim, brick dive retrieval, and a 300 meter swim test. Throughout the course, participants will learn and be evaluated on knowledge and skills related to lifeguarding, water rescues, extractions, CPR and AED and First Aid. Approximately 8-10 hours of online pre-course work is required prior to the start of the in-person certification portion of the class. Must be at least 15 years old. Participants are required to list an email in order to participate in the course. The email address must be a personal email specific to the person taking the course, no parent email addresses or school email addresses are permitted.

Pre-requisite: Swim 300 yards on belly; Tread water for at least 2 minutes (no hands); Dive at least 9ft and retrieve deep-end-brick. This is a blended learning class; you will be responsible for 8-10 hours of online class & 20 hours of in-person class time. American Red Cross certification valid for 2-years. Throughout the course, you will be asked to perform a series of tasks given by the instructor to demonstrate scanning and lifesaving lifeguard skills.
